Bernard Duane Sommer was born Sept. 2, 1925 to Carl John and Lulu Irene Ginther Sommer. He died Mar. 19, 1945 at sea. 

Petty Officer Sommer served with the U.S. Navy Air Corps and was lost at sea in a plane crash at Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts and his remains were not recovered.

Ervin Carl Paul Sommerfelt was born Sept. 17, 1920 to John F. and Lydia Maria Christine Weltzin Sommerfelt. He died Dec. 6, 1944 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.

Pvt. Sommerfelt served in World War II with the U.S. Army 17th Infantry and was KIA on Leyte Island, Philippine Islands.

Roman John Sondag was born Aug. 3, 1925 to John and Margaret Sondag. He died Aug. 3, 1925 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Gilbertville, IA. Pvt. Sondag served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Vincent Peter Sondag was born Aug. 3, 1919 to John and Margaret Sondag. He died Oct. 17, 1948 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Gilbertville, IA.

Sgt. Sondag served in World War II with the U.S. Army 96th Field Artillery Battalion.

Anthony Sam Soteros was born Jan. 4, 1921 to Sam and Anna Bertos Soteros. He died Nov. 7, 1945 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.
