Ronald Ira Sieben was born Sept. 2, 1912 to Ira L. and Stella Myrtle Sieben. He died Aug. 29, 1971 and is buried in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.

Maj. Sieben served in World War II with the U.S. Army Staff and Faculty Command and General Staff School, Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Vernon Ray Simmons was born Sept. 22, 1920 to Clark A. and Mabel E. Johnson Simmons. He died June 8, 1944 and is buried in Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, IA.

Sgt. Simmons served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 558th Bomb Squadron and was KIA in England. He was a radioman and gunner on a B-26 bomber and had completed 45 missions over enemy territory and had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with one silver and four bronze Oak Leaf Clusters.
