Willard James Hadjes was born Sept. 15, 1918 to Gust K. and Waneta Thayer Hadjes. He died Nov. 15, 1994.

1st Lt. Hadjes served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 8th Air Force, 1st Bomb Division. 398th Bomb Group as a pilot on a B-17 and flew to the Gold Beach Area on D-Day. He became a German POW.

John Francis Halbach was born Mar. 15, 1918 to Peter and Mary Brumm Halbach. He died Jan. 26, 2006 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls, IA.

Lt. Halbach served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 782nd Bomb Squadron, 465th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force in Italy.

Sgt. Hatcher served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
