December 2008 Additions and Improvements

The following 43 cemetery tables have been newly built in December. Aase Haugen , Big Canoe Lutheran , Burr Oak , Canoe German Methodist , Canoe Ridge Lutheran , Centennial aka Greenwood , East Glenwood , East Madison aka Vold , Glenwood Lutheran , Hauge Lutheran , Hesper Lutheran , Hesper Pioneer , Highland Lutheran , Hillside , Lewiston aka Young Farm aka Riha Farm , Locust , Lutheran (Decorah) , Madison Lutheran , North Washington Prairie , Oak Hill , Oak Hill Fort Atkinson , Orleans Lutheran , Pagin , Pleasant View , Pontoppidan , Ridgeway , Russell , Saint Agnes , Saint Aloysius , Saint Anthony of Puda , Saint Bridget , Saint Francis de Sales , Saint James German Lutheran , Seegmiller aka Locust Lane , Smalley Graves , Springfield , Springwater , Stavanger , Union Prairie , Washington Prairie Lutheran , Washington Prairie Norwegian Methodist , Winneshiek now has over 12000 documented graves.

November 2008 Additions and Improvements

95 photos from Winneshiek County cemeteries were submitted to the GPP project in November. The Winneshiek total at the end of November was 3245.

The following 16 cemetery tables were newly built in November. Baetke aka Rice aka Kinney , Barnes , Big Canoe Norwegian Methodist , Bloomfield , German Methodist aka Butz , Calmar Lutheran , Evangelical United Brethren aka S. Kratz , Haug , Hesper Public , Kendallville-Eddy , Lincoln Lutheran , Saint Benedict , Saint Clement , Saint John's German Lutheran , Saint Kierans , United Lutheran , Winneshiek now has 6200 documented graves.

Assembled a pseudo Cemetery Page With 7163 Graves documented. This Pseudo cemetery provides information to the site search engine and it also provides a mechanism for organizing a multi-person approach to solving the mystery of the 40 WPA gravestones that belong in no know Winneshiek County cemetery.

New County History Index provides an upper level entry into Winneshiek County History

October 2008 Additions and Improvements

612 photos from Winneshiek County cemeteries were submitted to the GPP project in October. The Winneshiek total at the end of October was 3150.

The following 9 cemetery tables were newly built in October. Bohemian National , Festina , First Orleans , Freeport , Fremont Lutheran , Madison Settlement , McIntosh , Phelps , Baetke aka Rice aka Kinney , The total for the month is: 2367 documented graves.

Completed the upload of 400 Phelps gravestone pictures to the GPP project

September 2008 Additions and Improvements

671 photos from Winneshiek County cemeteries were submitted to the GPP project in September. The Winneshiek total at end of September was 2538.

The following 2 cemetery tables were newly built in September. Saint Johns , Saint Wenceslaus , The total for the month is: 1026 documented graves.

Created a new more compact Cemetery index

Uploaded over 200 photos into GPP and included them into the St John's Cemetery Page

Uploaded 183 Gravestone pictures from the St. Mary's - Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church Cemetery at Festina. Additional graves will be documented as volunteers provide the data.

Uploaded 47 GPP pictures from the Frankville, St Anthony du Puda, and St James Lutheran cemeteries
