and Etta Amanda Logan Smith. She was a twin. Her twin sister was Lottie Smith
Goodrich.
She married Theodore (Ted) Beecher who was born 14 Sep 1871 in Nebraska. They lived many years in Omaha, NE, where
Ted was a prosperous businessman. They had one child, Theodore Rex Beecher, born
27 Feb 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. After retirement, they moved to CA to live with
their son, Rex. Retta Smith Beecher was afflicted with severe rheumatoid arthitis
and spent the last half of her life confined to a wheelchair, unable even to feed
herself. Ted Beecher died 07 Feb 1952 in CA. After his death, Retta returned to
Iowa and made her home with her nephew, Frank Brogotti Smith and Edna Smith, on
a farm in Washington Township, Webster County.
Retta Smith Beecher died in 1957 in Webster County, IA and is buried in West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh, as is her twin
sister, Lottie Smith Goodrich, her father, and her brothers Lee and Ira Smith."
