(depots 250 yards apart), 22 miles s of Des Moines and 308 from Chicago. It is lighted by electricity, has water works, fire department, telephone exchange, 7 churches, excellent public schools and Simpson College, a public library, an opera house, 4 banks and 3 weekly newspapers, the Advocate-Tribune, the Herald and the Record.
