Eberman Cemetery

EBERMAN CEMETERY was located in the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 30 of White Oak Township. The farm on which Eberman Cemetery was located was homesteaded by J.T. Bussells and later owned by William A. Eberman. THE GRAVES WERE MOVED ABOUT 1918 TO WALLACE AND HEWITT CEMETERIES.
Warren County Genealogical Society. Cemetery and death records of Warren County, Iowa. Marceline, Missouri: Walsworth Publishing Company, 1980.

According to an 1872 map of Warren County, Iowa, W.A. Eberman's property of 150 acres was located in White Oak Township covering the east half of the northwest quarter and north half of the southwest quarter. His house was located in the center of the southwest quarter of section 19 (see map below). A proposed road was later added which ran near his house. More likely, the Eberman Cemetery was located in the middle of the southwest quarter of section 19 in White Breast Township. Wm. & Mary Eberman lost 8 children to diptheria between Sept 22 - Oct 8, 1863 (see Wm. A. Eberman's biography from 1879). The family gravestones were moved to Hewitt Cemetery.
