These two photos (second photo) taken by
an unknown photographer circa 1889-1892, are
of my great grandmother, Edna Rachel (Kidder) Ormsby. She is the
daughter of Elmer & Sarah Elvira (Marble) Kidder. She was born
March 31, 1862 in Riley, McHenry county, IL. She came with her parents
to Bedford in 1875. There she met & married the boy next door,
Lucien
Ormsby. In the early years of her marriage she would either stay
with relatives & friends or in remote locations with her husband as
his business travels took him through several states. They returned to
Bedford and about 1895-1900 they moved to Clayton twp where Lucien went
into the farming business. It is interesting to note the artwork
in the second photo. It appears to have been ordered from the photographer
at a later time. The address on the back would indicate that the
photo was
sent after 1907.
