Eliza Jane Freel Taylor Obituary

The Times Republican, Bedford, Iowa May 12, 1904

Mrs Eliza Jane Taylor, nee Freel, relicit of Cyrenus Taylor dec'd, died at home in Ross twp, six miles southwest of Bedford Thursday, May 5th, 1904 at age 79 years and 8 days.

She was born in Warren co, Illinois, 27 Apr 1825. When quite young she removed to Lafayette, Ind and was married there Nov 19,1843 to Mr. Taylor. Early in 1856, with their few belongings and in a prairie schooner, they came to Iowa and the last day of April 1856 they settled on a farm in Taylor county, Iowa. Her husband died 11 years ago and she has lived since then with a daughter on the home place.

She had 10 children, 7 of whom survive. Two boys, Levy lives near home place and John W. of Spokane, Wash. 5 daughters, Louisa Taylor and Emma Hatfield of Taylor county, Iowa, Martha Wilson of Hopkins, Mo, Hannah Wight of Kiel, Oklahoma and Nancy Lacy of Miltonville, Kansas.

Eliza was a member of the Christian Chuirch. She was buried Friday in Titus (Graceland) cemetery
