Blair, Wilbur -

Wilbur Blair, son of William 0. and Amanda Manna Blair, was born in Washington Township, Taylor County, Iowa on December 6, 1890. He died Sunday, April 18 at the Methodist Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years, four months and twelve days.

At the age of two, he moved with his parents to Grove Township in Taylor County where he grew to maturity and attended public school and the Oak Hill Church.

Mr. Blair was a farmer and took part in various community activities.

He was a veteran of World War I, having been stationed in France where he was in the Battle of the Argone. Wilbur had been a member of the Gravity American Legion Post #578 for sixty-one years.

Mr. Blair's family and friends will remember him as a kind and considerate person and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Maude Welch and Blanche Andrews, and two brothers, Walter and Charles Blair.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Opal B. Schiltz of St. Joseph, Missouri; a brother Robert Blair of Sharpsburg, Iowa; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services were held at the Washington Township Cemetery in Gravity, Iowa on Saturday, May 1 with Reverend Carl Cummings officiating. Full military rites were conducted by the Gravity American Legion Post #578.

Casket bearers were Gene Welch, Bill Schiltz, Leonard Ratliff, Elvin Miller, Roy Beck, and Duane Beck.

Shum-Novinger Funeral Service of Bedford was in charge of arrangements.

Bloom, C Earl -

Funeral services for C. Earl Bloom, Sr., 92 years of age, were held Saturday afternoon, March 6, at the Bickford-Murray

Funeral Home in Greenfield.  Mr. Bloom died at his home in Greenfield March 3.

Reverend James McCutchan officiated at the service, with Mrs. Alice Hogan at the organ. Vocalists, Mrs. Myrtle Thompson and Mrs. Patty Arterburn, sang the hymns "In The Garden", and "There's a Mansion Over The Hilltop".

Mr. and Mrs. Art Lilly and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wahe were in charge of the floral tributes.

Casketbearers included Walt Lilly, Marian Lilly, Arlen Bloom, Danny Bloom, Larry Johnson, Dick Lilly, Randy

Bloom, Donald Bloom, Douglas Bloom, and Leland Johnson.

Interment was at Witt Cemetery, rural Bridgewater.

Mr. Bloom specialized in raising Chester White hogs during his farming years, and showed them at many fairs. He

sold livestock to ranchers from many states.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nellie Standley in 1972, and a son Dennis in 1969. Also by his

parents, three brothers, a son-in-law, and three grandchildren.

There are seven surviving children: Eileen Lilly and husband Les of Greenfield; Fannie Kapfer and husband,

Dr. T.A. Kapfer of Greenfield; Earl Bloom, Jr. and his wife Frances of Centralia, Kansas; Warren Bloom and wife Wilma

of Preston; Kelly Bloom and wife Mary of Bloomfield, New Jersey; Wayne Bloom and wife Gerry of Villisca; and Doris

Marleta Bloom at home. There are nineteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter.

One brother, Loyd Bloom of Kansas City and Alaska, also survives.

Carruthers, Francis (Frank) -

Francis (Frank) Carruthers, the son of William and Sarah Hayes Carruthers, was born January 17, 1888 at Clearfield,

Iowa, He died Sunday, February 28 at the Lenox Care Center at the age of ninety-four years, one month and eleven

days.

Frank was the second eldest of a family of six children and a lifelong resident of Taylor county. He was a member of St.

Patrick's Catholic Church in Lenox.

On January 27, 1913, he was united In marriage with Dessa E Robinson at St, Patrick's Church.

Mr Carruthers will be remembered as a devoted husband and a caring father. He derived great pleasure from his

grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting with people and watching nature were his joys.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Dessa in 1954, a brother and sister in infancy, three brothers, William,

Leo and George, and a grandson, Randy Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald and wife, Margorie of Lenox and Kenneth of California; a daughter, Margaret

Williams and husband, Glen of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren, Janet Holben and husband, David of Des Moines,

Nancy Steineck and husband, Donald of Ankeny, Barbara Carruthers of Des Moines and Daniel Carruthers of Ames; and

by six great grandchildren, Thomas, Jennifer, Joni, and Jeremy Holben and Kristoffor and Amanda Steinick.

Services were held Friday, March 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Mike Sims officiating.

Music was by Jerl Hanzlik, organist.

Casket bearers were Louis Brown, Kenneth John, Doyle Robinson, Guy Henderson, Barney Miller, and Harold

Carey. Honorary bearers were Melvin Williams, Ray Cheese and Leo Ryan.

Interment was in the East Fairview Cemetery.

Casey, Ada Moser -

Ada Casey of 100 Broad Street, Creston, Iowa died at her home on Thursday, March 11 at eighty-seven years of age. The

daughter of E.F. and Martha Jane Bryte Moser, she was born April 14, 1894 at Masontown, Pennsylvania.

Ada lived most of her life in Adams County, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Melvin Casey at the home of her

parents on January 5, 1916.

After moving to Creston in 1952, Mrs. Casey was employed as a cook at Creston High School and also babysat.

She was a member of the Salem Church of the Brethren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband on April 3, 1966, two brothers, and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, D. Marie Means and husband, Clark of Villisca and Violet King and husband, Dan

of Florissant, Missouri; a son, Ray A. Casey and wife, Ethel of Creston; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a

sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hathaway of North Manchester, Indiana.

Services were held Monday, March 15 at the Salem Church of the Brethren at 10 a.m. Reverend Elmer West officiated.

Mrs. Erma Fuller served as the organist. Selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden".

Casket bearers were Duane Casey, Larry Casey, Stephen Casey, Dennis Means, Brent Means, and Stanley Means.

Interment was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery northwest of Corning, Iowa.

A memorial has been established to the Salem Church of the Brethren.

Chapman, Harvey S -

Harvey S. Chapman, the son of Fred S. and Mary Berard Chapman, was born September 10, 1910 on a farm in Adams

County, Iowa. He died Tuesday, April 20 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa at seventy-one years of

age.

Harvey was a lifetime resident of the Cromwell area. At the time of his death, he still resided on the farm where he

was born. Mr. Chapman continued to farm and was also a school bus driver.

On March 6, 1933 he was united in marriage with Opal Marie Spriggs at Grant City, Missouri. She preceded him in

death November 6, 1954.

Mr. Chapman married Evelyn Schrodt in Jefferson on November 19, 1960.

Others preceding him in death besides his first wife were two sisters, a brother and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Creston; three daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. John) Gibson of Woodward, Donna (Mrs. Larry)

Miller of Corning and Beverly (Mrs. H. Eugene) Cordell of Creston; a son, Donald Chapman of Lenox; fifteen grandchildren; six

great grandchildren; and two brothers, Glenn Chapman of Creston and Bernard Chapman.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22 at the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston. Reverend Ross

Shinn officiated. Music was by Mrs. Jean Boyd, organist. The selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer".

Casket bearers were Craig Cordell, David Gibson, Jim Gibson, Randy Gibson, Rick Lewis, and Robert Morris.

Honorary casket bearers were Raymond Brown, Brian Chapman, Troy Cordell, Axel Nelson, Albert Spring, Robert Stalker,

and F.W. Sweeney.

Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Cromwell, Iowa.

A memorial has been established to the Greater Community Hospital.

Drain, Eula Bird Lovitt -

Eula Bird Drain, the daughter of E.P. and Elizabeth Bower Lovitt, was born July 22, 1886 on a farm in the Blue Grove

vicinity north of Sharpsburg, Iowa. She died at the Lenox Care Center on Friday, June 12 at the age of ninety-five years,

ten months and twenty days.

Bird grew to womanhood in the Blue Grove community and was united with the Blue Grove Church of Christ at an early age.

She worked untiringly with the Sunday School children of the church.

From the time she was eleven years old, she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Carter. Their daughter, Opal, was like a

sister to Bird.

In 1912, she moved to Lenox with the Carters and continued to make her home with them until her marriage to John Earl

Drain on October 23, 1917.

During her years in Lenox, she served in many capacities in the Lenox Christian Church. She had the privilege of seeing all

the members of her Sunday School class united with the church.

Preceding her in death were her husband on June 13, 1973, her parents, four sisters, Cora Paggett, Vada Orr, Alta

Chamberlain, and Flo Grimm; and three brothers, Vinton, Clyde and Ernest Lovitt.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Hazel Neeley of Glendale, California; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Lovitt of Portland,

Oregon; and nieces, nephews and their families.

Services were held Monday, June 14 at the First Christian Church in Lenox at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Pop Jensen officiated.

Music was by Ruth Boltinghouse, organist, and Mildred Walter, vocalist. The selections were "Abide With Me" and "In

The Garden"

Casket beaters were Harley Allen Porter, Louis Brown, Marvin Shawler, Richard Walter, Robert Brown and Robert Morris.

Interment was in the East Fairview Cemetery at Lenox.

England, Carl Joseph Jr -

Carl Joseph England, Jr. was born at Tingley, Iowa on January 7, 1917 and passed away March 23, at the age of

sixty-five.

He was united in marriage to Jennie Darlene Winslow August 31, 1938 at Des Moines, Iowa. To this union three children

were born, Karla, Samuel and Eileen. They lived on a farm south of Clearfield throughout their married lives.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Karla and husband, William Livingston of Clearfield, and Eileen and

husband, Carl Jones of Shenandoah; son, Samuel England of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister,

Louise and husband, John Busby of Clearfield; sister-in-law June Coins of Casar, North Carolina; also many nieces and

nephews and a host of friends.

Joe was proceeded in death by his wife, Jennie; parents, Vera and Samuel England; and brother, Everett England.

Joe was engaged in farming for many years. He was a loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones

and all who knew him.

Final rites were conducted Thursday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield with

Reverend Jim Turner officiating. Mike Evans was vocalist, accompanied by Barb Scott.

Casket bearers were Jim Darat, Phil Larson, Leroy Beggs, L.L. Siverly, Dale Juergens, and Randy Deardorff.

Flynn, James William (Bill) -

James William "Bill" Flynn, a former resident of Lenox and a member of the Lenox Christian Church died January 10 at the

Phoenix Baptist Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

The son of Milford H. and Grace Sanger Flynn, he was born January 6, 1927 at Maquoketa, Iowa. Bill was educated in the

Maquoketa schools and joined the United Air Force following his high school graduation. He was in the service for two years and

spent time in Japan at the end of World War II.

On May 22, 1953, he was united in marriage with Norma Ward at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Phoenix; two sons, David and wife, Grayce of Peoria, Arizona, and Don of the

home; his mother, Mrs. Grace Flynn of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Leora Holcomb and husband R.C. of Davenport, Iowa; two

brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Gerald and Margery Carruthers of Lenox and Edward and Dorothy Ward of

Mexico, Missouri; nieces, nephew, aunts, and uncles.

Services were held January 14 at the Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale, Arizona. Reverend Byron D. Haines, chaplain of

the Phoenix Baptist Hospital officiated.

Casket bearers were Roger Sanger, Jay Brandon, Tandy "T" Cook, Henry Sanger, Bruce Freeman, and Chester Reynolds, Sr.

Interment was in the Resthaven Park Cemetery at Glendale, Arizona.

Gilleland, Lillian Maloy -

Lillian M. Gilleland of Corning died Friday, March 19 at the Rosary Hospital in Corning following a lengthy illness. She was eighty-seven

years of age. The daughter of Dr. John T. and Amy Warden Maloy, Lillian was born April 2, 1894 in Redding, Iowa.

Lillian worked in Omaha, Nebraska where she was the owner and manager of The Sunshine Beauty Salon. She was also appointed by the

governor to serve as State Examiner for the Nebraska Cosmetology Association for the Nebraska Department of Health. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Bedford.

She was united in marriage with Charles Wesley Gilleland on February 14, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri.

Lillian became a resident of the Lenox community following the death of her daughter, Frances Guinivere John in 1947. During this time, she raised her granddaughters, Martha and Judy John and was associated with her son, Gordon, in the Crystal Beverage Bottling Company.

Lillian spent most of her life in the Lenox and Bedford areas and in later years resided near and with her granddaughter, Dr. and Mrs. Dallas (Judy) F. Hynnek of Brooks. Wherever she made her home, Lillian was surrounded by beautiful floral gardens which she tended with loving care.

She will be missed by her family and friends and remembered with much love.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Charles, in January of 1944; a daughter, Frances Guinivere Beard John; and a brother, Dr. W.H. Maloy.

Survivors include a son, Gordon X. Beard and wife, Velma of Naches, Washington; four granddaughters, Martha John of Brooks, Mrs. Dallas (Judy) Hynnek of Brooks, Mrs. John (Patricia) Deaton of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mrs. Maynard (Harriett) Harlow of Cincinnati, Ohio; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at the Fairview Cemetery in Bedford. Reverend Zona Lautt, pastor of the United Methodist Churches in Corning and Brooks officiated.

Casket bearers were Henry Heaton, Max Downard, Paul Steinke, Andy Neutzling, Rudy Ross, and Bob Manke.

Honorary bearers were John Maloy, ET 2 Mark Hynnek, H.M. Seiffert, Ed Hynnek, Paul Gauthier, and Dr. C.L. Bain.

Harover, Laura Mae Brown -

Laura Mae Brown Harover, daughter of Newton Andrew and Mary Ann Foglesong Brown, was born May 1, 1900 at

Wheeler's Grove near Carson, Iowa in Pottawattamie County.

She died Friday, May 14 at the Audraln County Hospital in Mexico, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years and thirteen

days.

She was united in marriage with William "Champ" Harover on October 11, 1922 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple

resided in Henderson, Carson, Council Bluffs, and Adel before moving to Lenox in 1938.

Laura was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lenox, a fifty year member of the Order of Eastern Star, the

GVC Club, and the United Methodist Women.

She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Laura was blessed with a sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1964, a sister, Blanche Steele, and two brothers, Jim Brown

and Woody Brown.

Survivors include her two sons, Bill Harover and wife, Kathleen of Mexico, Missouri and Dick Harover and wife, Phyllis of

Springboro, Ohio; six grandchildren, Cindy Huddleston of Branford, Connecticut, Anne Harover of Iowa City, Iowa, Susan

Greene and husband, Mike of Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Julie Harover of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Rich Harover and Todd Harover,

both of Springboro, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Heather and Stephanie Greene of Mt. Ayr; and nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lenox with Reverend Lester Hesseltine

officiating.

Music was by Mike Greene, organist, and Mrs. Judy Cunning, soloist. The selections were "Abide With Me" and

"His Eye Is On The Sparrow".

Casket bearers were George Reynolds, Dick Walter, Don Trost, Allie Hegwood, Dale Purdum, and Harold Carey.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Higgins, Harry -

Harry Higgins, the son of Robert and Margaret Slack Higgins, was born near Villisca, Iowa in Montgomery County on

May 1, 1903. He died at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa Sunday, March 14 at the age of seventy-eight years, ten

months and thirteen days.

On November 23, 1927, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Miller at Prescott, Iowa. The couple made their

home in Mercer Township, Adams County, Iowa.

Harry joined the Methodist Church as a young man. He was engaged in farm work until 1945 when he became an employee of

Red Star Mills in Corning. He retired from there after twenty five years of service.

Harry and Dorothy celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in November of 1977.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister in infancy and a brother, Ray Higgins.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of rural Corning; a daughter, Marjorie Roberts and husband, Don of Ankeny; a

grandson, Jeffrey Roberts of Ankeny; two sisters, Hannah and Eula Higgins, both of Creston; as well as other

relatives.

Services were held Wednesday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lenox, Iowa. Reverend John 0.

Wagner officiated. Music was by Norma Paymal, organist and Marilyn Beck and Billie Jean Barker, vocalists. The selections

were "How Great Thou Art", "In The Garden" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye".

Casket bearers were Mike Croy, Harold Riley, Tom Staples, Richard Goldsmith, Ivan Templeton, and Roger Murdock.

Honorary bearers were Harvery Riley, Wayne Bunting, Lee Brokaw, Ivan Bissell, Bliss Snethen, and Gerald Rogers.

Flower bearers were Elaine Murdock, Valerie Goldsmith, Margaret Bissell, and Carol Lundquist.

Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Repplinger, Vera Leota Morrison Spare -

Vera Leota, daughter of John and Mary LaMar Morrison was born October 28, 1891 at Port Morgan, Colorado and passed

away March 20, 1982 at 6:10 a.m. at the Lenox Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Afton, with the Reverend Thomas Coenen

officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetary in Creston.

Casket bearers were Randall Riley, Ted Jones, Bob Spare, Merrill Cornelison, Peter and Gary Repplinger.

Vera came to Kent as a young girl to make her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Jones.

In 1908 she was united in marriage to Charlie Spare of Kent. To this union four children were born, Fred, Lucille, Gertrude

and Robert.

In 1922 she married Peter A. Repplinger of Creston. They were the parents of four children, Katherine, Joe, Herman

and Patricia.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Peter, one brother, Alva, sons Fred and Robert Spare; a

daughter-in-law, Ann Spare; a daughter, Gertrude Engle; grandson, Charles Spare, and Cloyd McKinney; and stepdaughter

Louis McKee.

Surviving to mourn her passing are Mr. and Mrs. John (Lucille) Matthews of Kuna, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Reldon (Katherine)

Beadel of Lenox, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Repplinger of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Herman (Marcellene) Repplinger of

Arvada, Colorado, Patricia Cornelison of Winterset, a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Edna) Morrison of Longmont, Colorado,

a stepson-in-law, Paul McKee of Creston, a step-daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James (Agnes) Moore of Manhattan Beach, California,

a step-son, Eugene Repplinger of Knoxville, Iowa, a stepdaughter, Bernice Turner of Creston, twenty-five grandchildren

and fifty-three great grandchildren.

Vera was a loving mother and a good friend and neighbor and was loved by all who knew her. A longtime resident of Afton,

she lived in Creston from September 1980 to February 1982 before moving to Lenox. She was a retired homemaker.

Salisbury, Lou Smith -

Lou Smith Salisbury of Lebanon, Missouri died Monday, January 18 at Ottumwa, Iowa. She was ninety-four years

of age.

Survivors include her five daughters, Wilma Bowman and Lucille Addison, both of Lebanon, Nellie Bowman of

Algona, Iowa, Dorothy Houk of Ottumwa, and Loretta Combs of Lakeside, California; two sons, Forest Smith of Columbia,

Georgia and James Smith of Prosperity, South Carolina; twenty-one grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; and ten

great great grandchildren.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 21 at Holman Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Brown officiating.

Interment was in the Grange Hall Cemetery near Lebanon.

Mrs. Salisbury was a former resident of Lenox.

Wall, Sadie Ruth Shafer -

Sadie Ruth, daughter of George and Melissa Stahl Shafer, was born November 14, 1889 in Ringgold County, Iowa,

southwest of Diagonal. She died at her home in Clearfield, Iowa on Saturday, May 29 at ninety-two years of age.

Sadie received her education in rural Ringgold county schools, graduating from Diagonal High School in 1908. She

taught in several rural schools and in the Diagonal Public School.

On June 2, 1915 she was united in marriage with Orville Wall at her parents' home.

Sadie was a resident of rural Ringgold County until she and her husband moved to a farm southwest of Clearfield in 1921.

Soon after Sadie and Orville's fiftieth wedding anniversary they retired and moved into Clearfield.

As long as her health permitted, Sadie was an active member of the Clearfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed

reading, continuing to do so after her eyesight failed by using the Talking Book machine furnished by the Iowa Lions

Sight and Hearing Foundation. Due to her poor eyesight, her radio was her constant companion.

Her grandchildren's participation in sports became an interest of Sadie's and she retained this interest in high

school, college and professional sports.

Crippling arthritis had confined Sadie to a wheelchair for twenty years.

Preceding her in death were her husband on June 2, 1973; an adopted son, Richard on March 11, 1924; her parents; four

sisters, Grace Baker, Estella Beymer, Inez Hughes, and Nora Dinkel; a brother, Chester Shafer; and an  infant great grandson,

Jeremy Wade Maharry.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Hazel (Gerald) Maharry of Clearfield and Mrs. Luella (LBanks) Wilson of Mt.

Ayr, Iowa; a sister, Mabel Wall of Buena Park, California; two granddaughters; three grandsons; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Clearfield United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 1 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Jim Turner officiating.

Music was provided by Mary Ellen Spurrier and Becky Nelson, accompanied by Joan Owens.

Windhorst, Paul Daniel -

Paul Daniel Windhorst, the son of Emit and Bertha Spangenberg Windhorst, was born in Page County,

Iowa on April 22, 1921.  He died at his home in Lenox, Iowa on Wednesday, June 9 at the age of sixty-one

years, one month and seventeen days.

Paul spent his early years in Page County. On June 20, 1948 he was united in marriage with Luella Grother at St. Paul's

Lutheran Church in Yorktown, Iowa.

The family had made their home in Lenox since February of 1960, moving here from Clarinda, Iowa.

Paul was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Corning, Iowa, a member of the Lenox Rotary Club and was

currently serving on the board of the Lenox Municipal Utilities. He was a past president of the Lenox Country Club and had

also served on the Lenox City Council.

For the past thirty years, Mr. Windhorst had been employed as a district manager for the Moorman Feed Company.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Fred, Lee and Lloyd Windhorst.

Survivors include his wife, Luella of Lenox; a son, Kirk Windhorst of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters, Jackie Banks

and husband, Rich, Jr. of Omaha and Julie Windhorst of New Ulm, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Holli and Cody

Banks; and one sister, Irene Herzberg and husband, Rufus of Clarinda.

Services were held Friday, June 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Corning. Pastor Ken Theile

officiated.

Music was by Lois Jordening, organist, who played "How Great Thou Art" and also accompanied the vocalist, Brenda

Windhorst as she sang "Amazing Grace".

Casket bearers were Walt Warner, Roy Windhorst, Fred Windhorst, Wesley Herzberg, Barney Miller, and Craig

Hellyer. Honorary bearers were Dr. G.K. Howland, John Robbins, Win Tyler, and Ralph Rogers.

Interment was in the Summit Cemetery at Yorktown.
