Endora Elizabeth Ley, daughter of Richard and Speedy Raper was born in Taylor county, Iowa on October 14th, 1884 being forty-two years, six months, and seventeen days old at the time of her death having passed away at Clarinda, Iowa April 1st, 1927.

She was united in marriage to Frank Ley in August 1897. To this union three children were born, Frank and Nellie of Hagertown, Illinois and Hazel who died at eight months old.

Endora confessed Christ early in life. She leaves to mourn her departure her mother, five brothers, and four sisters, Charles of Superior, Wisconsin, Alonzo and Carl of New Market, Jasper of Port Angeles, Washington, Fred of San Diego, California, Mrs Estella Elliot, Mrs Mary Penwell and Mrs Grace Cooper of this community and Mrs Pearl Jeter of Murray, Iowa, besides one brother Roy who died when twenty-eight years old. Also six uncles, one aunt and a host of relatives and friends. She was of a sunny disposition, always thinking of others happiness and was loved by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Christian Church at New Market, Rev. Hawkins officiating. Interment was in Dallas Center cemetery.
