Theron Keith Died At Cherokee

Theron Keith, 61, a former resident of Bedford, died in Sioux Valley hospital at Cherokee, Iowa, early Tuesday morning, February 3.  The body was brought to Bedford.

Funeral services will be held at the Wetmore Funeral Home at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, February 5, Rev. Kenneth Miller, acting pastor of the Presbyterian Church officiating.  Burial in Fairview cemetery.

Theron Keith Rites In Bedford Febr. 5

Last rites for Theron Keith were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home in Bedford, Thursday afternoon, February 5.  Rev. Kenneth Miller officiated.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Theron Clark Keith, son of Silas and Mary J. [ane John] Keith, was born May 8, 1897 at Bedford, and passed away in Sioux Valley Memorial hospital, Cherokee, Iowa, February 3, 1959, at the age of 61 years, eight months, 26 days.

He lived most of his life in Bedford and community, except for the past nine years, which he spent in Cherokee, Iowa, where he was employed at the State Mental Health Institute.

On July 30, 1944, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mae Kulbom of Bedford.

He was a member of the Bedford Christian church and a Veteran of World War I and II.

Surviving are his wife; two stepdaughters, Mrs. [Edith] Lorraine Albright [Harley] of Hopkins, Mrs. Maxine Zekish of San Anselmo, Calif.; one brother, Glade Keith of Bedford; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jared and Mrs. Clark Spencer [Mildred Keith] of Bedford; special nieces and nephews.

His parents and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Snyder and Mrs. Ruth Cheshire, preceded him in death.

On Saturday, April 1, 1967, at the Veterans Hospital, J. [ohn] Lee Wilkinson Sr., of 1316 New Hampshire Ave., nw.  and Leonardtown, Md., beloved husband of Irene Ruth Fiester Wilkinson; father of Mrs. Dorothy W. Dodson, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. Alice W. Colburn, Atlantic Beach, Fla.; Forrester Fiester Wilkinson, Wichita, Kans., and Lt. Col. John L. Wilkinson, Jr., USAF, Wichita Falls, Tex.; brother of Walter T. Wilkinson, St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Erline W. Warner, Hillcrest Heights, Md., and Lester F. Wilkinson, Augusta, W. Va.  Eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.  Friends may call at Joseph Gawler's Sons, Wisconsin Ave. at Harrison St. nw., on Tuesday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Services will be held at St. Paul's Rock Creek Parish on Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery.

Gen. Hubert D. Hoover, Army Legal Aide, Dies

Retire Army Maj. Gen. Hubert D. [on] Hoover, an assistant to the judge advocate general in the late 1940s, died Friday at Walter Reed General Hospital.  He was 89.

Gen. Hoover was born in Bedford, Iowa.  He graduated from the University of California Law School and was commissioned a first lieutenant in the infantry reserves in 1917.

In 1920, Gen. Hoover received his Regular Army commission as a captain.  During World War I, he served with the 91st Division in France and Belgium.

Gen. Hoover became an instructor in law at the U. S. Military Academy in 1924.  In 1943, he was designated assistant judge advocate general in charge of the North Africa section of the office.

Following World War II, he was assigned to Washington as assistant judge advocate general in charge of civil matters.  He retired in February 1948.  He had been awarded the Leaf Cluster, the Commendation Ribbon and Belgium's Croix de Guerre.  Following his retirement he served as an adviser to the Secretary of the Army on the rehabilitation of military prisoners.

Gen. Hoover is survived by his wife, Gertrude [Mills Haverstick], of the home in Silver Spring [Maryland]; two sons, retired Col. Holman D. [on], also of Silver Spring, and Hubert M. [ills], of Wilton, N. H., and three grandchildren.

McCloud, Imri Lincoln.  On Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1956, at Doctors Hospital, Imri Lincoln McCloud, of 3022 Massachusetts Ave., se., beloved husband of Mrs. Olive C. [hute] McCloud and father of Marie Lashells of New Jersey and Janet Smith of Kensington, Md.  He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. George [Mullin] McCloud [Anastasia Hauber].  Remains resting at Hysong's Funeral Home, 1300 N St. nw., where services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 1 p. m.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Bedford, Iowa.

Imri L. McCloud

Imri Lincoln McCloud, 96, publisher of law books since 1931 and a resident of Washington for nearly half a century died Wednesday at Doctors Hospital after an illness of three days.

Mr. McCloud, third oldest member of Sigma Chi fraternity, operated the publishing firm, the Statute Law Book Co.  Besides publishing codes, Mr. McCloud's firm reprinted old law books and collected historic legal material.

Mr. McCloud was born in Bedford, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University.  He came to Washington in 1910 and joined Theodore Cole in the law book company.  He took over the firm in 1931.

In 1890, Mr. McCloud married Katherine F. Mullen in Iowa City.  Following her death in 1926, he married Olive Chute in Washington.  He lived at 3022 Massachusetts Ave. se.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. R. [obert] E. [lgar] L. Smith [Janet] of Kensington, Md.; and Mrs. Theodore B. Lashells [Marie] of Cranford, N. J.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at Hysong's funeral home, 1300 N St., nw., with interment in Bedford, Iowa.
