LIFE STORY OF MRS. ELIZABETH FRANKLIN Elizabeth Caroline Crosby was born in Virginia on January 25, 1847 and died at the home of her son in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 21, 1937, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 24 days.

When she was a child she moved with her parents to Illinois where she grew to womanhood. In the year 1870 she was married to Albert E. Franklin, who preceded her in death in 1904. Four Children were born to them, two of that number, Ray and Earle, being deceased.

In 1895 she moved, with her family to Taylor county, Iowa, settling east of conway. Seven years later they moved to a farm east of Lenox. Later, she moved into the town of Lenox and with the exception of the last year of her life, that was he home until her death.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by two sons, Fred of Des Moines, and Clyde of Lenox. She also leaves one sister, Miss Augusta Crosby of Glesburg, ILL. and one brother, Frank Cosby of Washington, Iowa. In addition there are also five grandchilden and 7 great grandhcilren.

At the time of her death Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Methodist church of lenox. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 23, at the Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Thomas Kelly. Burial was made in the Lenox Cemetery.
