One of her sisters became a teacher in the public schools and a brother a minister of the Gospel.

In June, 1870, she was married to Byron G. Eaton, going to live on a farm near the present site of Sharpsburg, later moving to Hopkins, MO, where they resided for a number of years.  To this union was born one son, Byron I. Eaton, who survives his mother. The husband passed away in October, 1893.

She was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church.  She retained her membership in the Grand Ave. M. E. Church of Kansas City, MO, which city has been her home for the last 40 years.

Eckles, George -

A farmer near Lenox, Geo. Eckles, was trampled to death by his team last week Tuesday, while unhitching. The man was 60 years of age. One tug through oversight was left attached to the singletree after it was thought the team was unhitched. The team was a young one, and Mr. Eckles was just nervy enough to hold to the lines, causing his death. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Jan 6, 1916
