1976 May 9 [letter to Pat O'Dell from Celia Summerland, Board Camp, Ark]
Dear Mrs O'Dell,

My daughter found this item in the paper and knowing that I had an Aunt that married Martin Mickler she sent it to me. And I will tell you all I know about them. My Aunt Elizabeth Brock married Martin Mickler and they lived in Orange Co. I was born in 1904 and that was the year he died [see note below]. They had 2 sons Martin and James. We called them Mart and Jim - they were my cousins - only much older than I. Mart died without ever being married. He was in Knox Co when he died. Jim married and had only one daughter her name was Viola. They lived in Wheatland, Ind. I don't know who she married - but Jim and his wife are both dead. That is Viola mother died first and Jim re-married but he is also gone now only a few years ago - possibly only 6 or seven years ago.

My Aunt Liz, as we called her, married (after Martin's death) to Hamilton Pressy they lived in Knox Co also thats 2 county west and south of Orange Co.

Martin Jr is buried at a little country Church cemetary called Reels Chapel east of Monroe City, Ind. He belonged to a lodge called the Modern Woodman and I remember his tombsotne quite well. It looked like a big tree with some limbs cut off. Also Aunt Liz is buried there and I don't know if Uncle Martin was placed there or not.

I don't know who Viola married she would be about 69 or 70 years old. To get more information you could write to the Vincennes Sun Commerical. a letter to the editor and ask for information of Viola Mickler. If she is living Wheatland is a small town. It has a Post Office but no daily paper except the Vincennes Sun Commerical - address Vincennes, Indiana 47591.

My name is Celia Summerland. I live in Board Camp, Arkansas 71932.

I hope this information will help you.

Sincerely Mrs Celia Summerland.

PS I have a brother living in Alta, Iowa who might know who Viola married. Earl Brock, 318 Cherokee Street, Iowa 51002
[NOTE: "Martin Mickler and they lived in Orange Co. I was born in 1904 and that was the year he died" This statement refers to Martin Mickler 1823-1904 who married Lucy Roberts and they had 5 sons - James, John, Martin, George and Sylvester]
