Sioux County -- Floyd Independent
~the history of the school house building
Known as Floyd Independent, when other schools in the area consolidated with Newkirk, patrons from this school wanted to have their own school and function independently. So in 1922, they built their own school and called it Floyd Independent. Later they did consolidate with Newkirk. This school was damaged by a tornado and later torn down.
