Marilyn Kay Sawyers, age 58, passed away at her home on Monday, November 12, 2012. Marilyn was born October 3, 1954, to Dale and Irene Kramer Friesen and graduated from St. Albert High School in 1973. She attended Iowa Western Community College before graduating from Buena Vista with a Bachelors degree. Marilyn was united in marriage to Tim Sawyers in 1976 and sons Andrew and Daniel were born.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dale Friesen; in-laws Randy and Monica Sawyers; and sister-in-law, Barb Bolton.

Survivors include husband Tim, of Council Bluffs; sons, Andrew and wife, Hilary, of Des Moines, Iowa and Daniel and wife, Melissa, of Wichita Falls. Texas; grandchildren, Kael, Heath and Grant; mother Irene Friesen, of Council Bluffs; sisters, Pat (Les) Hayes, of Arvada, Colo., and Jan Lockhart, of Plattsmouth, Neb.; brothers, Mike (Jeannie) Friesen, and Ken (Jean) Friesen, Paul Friesen, all of Council bluffs, John (Jan ) Friesen, of Papillion, Neb., and Ken Friesen of Cresent, Iowa; brother-in-law, Steve (Angie) Sawyers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Dennis (Angie) Sawyers of Nebraska City, Neb.; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Thursday, 5 p.m. Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m. all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Pastor Tony Paff, officiant, Family will direct memorials.
