A St. Patrick's Day outing ended in death for two persons early Wednesday when a car-load of Omahan collided with a stock truck 2 miles east of Weston on Highway 64.

Four others were injured.

Killed were:

Victor E. Kramer, 21, driver of the car. His home was at Defiance but he had been living and working in Omaha. Pottawattami County Coroner Maurice O'Neill said Kramer died at the scene.

Miss Janice L Oliphant, 19. She died about three hours after the crash.

Injured were:

Miss Carla Anderson, 20. Listed in good condition. She suffered abrasions of both legs.

Miss Eunice Heithoff, 28. Treated for a leg injury and released.

All were riding in the car, Iowa Highway patrolman Virgil Elmore said they were heading back to Omaha, about 1:10 a.m. after spending a St Patrick's Day dance at Neola. Elmore said the car came over a small concrete bridge and apparently went out of control.

It struck the left front fender of the eastbound stock truck driven by Terry Dean Jorgenson of Elkhorn, then careened into the side of the truck. The truck overturned, Jorgensen was not injured.

Seven cattle in the truck escaped after it toppled over.

The deaths were the fifth and sixth traffic fatalities recorded in Pottawattamie County this year.
