Oscar Bornholdt Rites Held Monday

Rev. E. J. Schuman officiated at a Requiem High Mass Monday morning at St. Mary's church for Oscar H. Bornholdt. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Bornholdt died at his home in Avoca Saturday following a year's illness with a heart condition.

He was born May 18, 1903 in Knox Township, Pottawattamie county, the son of William J. Bornholdt and Alvena Arp. He was one of a family of ten children.

In 1922 he finished a watchmaker's school at Bradley, Ill., and worked for a time in Walnut, Shelby, and Neola. In 1936 he moved back to Avoca and on April 6, 1938, he was married to Dorothy Mehrens of Avoca.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; his father, William J., of Elk Horn; six sisters, Mrs. Clarence Zimmerman and Mrs. George Lippold, Avoca; Mrs. John Slaven, Exira; Mrs Henry Johnson, Walnut, Mrs. Norman Auffricht, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. LaVerne Olsen, Ralston, Nebr.; three brothers, Rudy, Avoca; Peter, Denver; Ray of Elk Horn.

His mother preceded in death in March of 1939.
