Joe Book, 39, prominent Shelby county farmer, was found dead at his home Wednesday morning, the victim of a heart attack. Mr. Book failed to get up for breakfast and when the family went in to awaken him they found that he had died sometime during the night.

He is survived by a family of eight children ranging in age from one year to Mel, one of the county's popular young baseball players.

Mrs. Book died on Dec. 21 last year following a lingering illness of several months.

The family had resided on a farm three miles east of Westphalia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning from St. Boniface church in Westphalia.
