T. J. DODDS.

    The subject of this sketch is the present postmaster of Le Claire, Iowa, and is a descendant from one of the old and highly respected families of Pennsylvania. He first saw the light of day in the old Keystone State, Butler County, May 4, 1830. His parents were James and Elenore (Sproll Dodds.

     Mr. Dodds received but a common school education, after which he learned the tanner's trade under his father. He came to Iowa at an early day. In 1860 he took an extended trip to the Rocky Mountains in the interest of his health and to prospect. After a year in the mountains he returned home. Mr. Dodds is a member of the Masonic Snow Lodge, No. 44, of Le Claire, and has been since 1860. In political matters Mr. Dodds affiliates with the Democratic party.
