DAVID H. CULBERTSON.

    David H. Culbertson was born in Cumberland County, Penn sylvania, in 1815, son of Stephen Calbertson, whose father came from near the line between Scotland and Ireland, to America. The subject of this sketch received a common school education. When a young man he went to Perry County, Pennsylvania, and embarked in the mercantile business. He engaged in the same business later in Philadelphia, and came west in 1860. He purchased a beautiful farm in the suburbs of Princeton and made many improvements, devoting a great deal of time to the cultivation of fruits. He was married in 1813 to Miss Mary Linn, also a native of Pennsylvania. He is a staunch Republican and cast his first vote for William Henry Harrison. He and his family are members of the Presbyterian Church.
