Last Will and Testament of Lois E. Cason, 1910


Will: I, Lois E. Cason, of the Town of Schaller, County of Sac, and State of Iowa, do make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made.

I give, devise and bequeath all my property real and personal, which I may own at the time of my death, as follows, that is to say:

Par. 1: Out of my personal property I direct that first all my debts if any I may have, and my funeral expenses be paid.

Par. 2: To my daughter, Mary E. King, I give Five Dollars ($5.00)

Par.3: To my son, Joshua Cason, I give Five Dollars ($5.00).

Par. 4. To Lois E. Munroe, Nellie Newell and Etta Conroe, all the children of my deceased daughter, Rebecca Grissom, I give Five Dollars ($5.00) to be divided share and share alike, as near as possible, among them.

Par. 5. To my daughter, Martha Leasure, I give Five Dollars ($5.00).

Par. 6: To my son, William T. Cason, I give Five Dollars ($5.00)

Par. 7. After the above expenses and bequests are paid, to my daughter, Barbara B. Cason, I give all the remainder of my property, real and personal, wherever the same may be situated. This will include the following Real Estate: Lots number Three (3) and Four (4) of Section number Four (4) in Township number one hundred twenty six (126) North and Range number Sixty seven (67) West of the Fifth P.M. in the county of McPherson and State of South Dakota, Containing Eighty two & 27/100 Acres (82/27/100) more or less according to Government Survey thereof; and the South Half (S.) of Lots numbered Five (5) and Six (6) in Block numbered Five (5) in Railroad Addition to the Town of Winterset, in the County of Madison and State of Iowa.

Par. 8. I hereby nominate my daughter, Barbara Cason, to be the executrix of this my last will and testament, without bond. In Witness whereof, I have to this, my last will and testament, consisting of one sheet of paper, subscribed my name this 18th day of March, 1910.

We hereby certify that on this 18th day of March, 1910, at the town of Schaller and County of Sac in the State of Iowa, Lois E. Cason, to us personally known, did, in our presence, sign the foregoing instrument and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament; and we at her request, and in her presence, and in the presence of each other, do hereby subscribe our names as Witnesses thereto.

AFFIDAVIT OF DECEASE.

State of Iowa, Sac County

I, W. J. Howard do solemnly swear that I was acquainted with Lois E. Cason during her lifetime and that she departed this life at Schaller Sac County, in the State of Iowa, on the 12th day of April A.D. 1910.

Subscribed in my presence by the said W. J. Howard and by him sworn to before me this 13th day of April A.D. 1910.
