Last Will and Testament of Caroline Petersmeyer, 1902


In the name of God, Amen.

I, Carolina Petersmeyer of Odebolt, Sac County and State of Iowa, now of the age of sixty-six years and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, ordain publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in the manner following, that is to say:

First. I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences be fully paid.

Second. I order and direct that Frederick Frevert and Minnie Frevert, the children of my deceased daughter Caroline Frevert, shall each one receive out of my estate the household sum of Ten dollars as their share. This sum shall be their full share.

Third. I give and bequeath to my daughter Clara L. Petersmeyer all my furniture, beddings, wearing apparels and the piano.

Fourth. I give, devise and bequeath all my real estate and other properties, after the above mentioned legacies to Frederick Frevert and Minnie Frevert are paid to them, shall go to my following named Children: Henry W. Petersmeyer, Flora Walter, August C. Petersmeyer, Frederick W. Petersmeyer, Sophia Searight, Emma C. Cook, William Petersmeyer, Edward Petersmeyer, Lydia M. Roland, Lillian H. Petersmeyer and Clara L. Petersmeyer to be divided amongst them in equal parts, share and share alike.

Fifth. In case any of my aforesaid children should die before my death without leaving issue surviving, then the share of such deceased child shall also be equally divided amongst my surviving children.

Sixth. I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son August C. Petersmeyer sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby revoke all and every former will by me made.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed my seal, the 11th day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand Nine Hundred and Two. (A.D. 1902).

This instrument was on the day of the date thereof, signed, published and declared by the said testator Carolina Petersmeyer to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request have subscribed our names thereto as witnesses, in her presence, and in the presence of each other.

AFFIDAVIT OF DECEASE

State of Iowa, Sac County.

I, R. W. Sayre, do solemnly swear that I was acquainted with Caroline Petersmeyer during her lifetime, and that she departed this life at Odebolt Sac County, in the State of Iowa, on the 6th day of Sept. A.D. 1910.
