Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Tuesday, March 07, 1916

In their first game played in Des Moines to determine the inter-scholastic championship of southwest Iowa, the Mount Ayr basketball team won by a score of 13 to 3 from Blockton. The local team will play again this evening and if victorious, will play in the finals tomorrow afternoon. The tounament at Des Moines is to determine the championship of southwestern Iowa and the winners in the tournament will participate in the state championship games to be played at Iowa City.
