MAC DISTRICT HONORS RETIREES,
MARKS YEARS of STAFF SERVICE

  Three retirees and many other Mount Ayr Community staff were honored for their years of service to the district in a staff appreciation breakfast held Tuesday, May 31, on the final day of school. The district is starting a new recognition program where staff will be honored at each five-year anniversary of service to the district.

To begin the program, pins were awarded to all staff members who had served for five years or more.

Retiring from the district were Sue BUCK, Janice MOBLEY and Marylin WEEDA. BUCK has taught in the district for 24 1/2 years and MOBLEY and WEEDA have served for 26 years for a total of 76 1/2 years of service.

Teachers and staff recognized for their service at the breakfast included:

Five to nine years: Stacey Andresen, Carol Cason, Katie Coulson, Jess Frost, Pat Kemery, Shaun Kniep, Amy Levine, Andrea Main, Ken Markley, Gayla Moon, Stacia Nickle, Sharon Norris, Amanda Overholser, Brandie Ruggles, Bret Ruggles, Mike Still, Josh Vanderflught, Kurt Wallace and Elaine Willis.

10 to 14 years: Dean Blades, Thomas Giles, Mike Gilliland, Derek Lambert, Tori Larsen, Jackie McVey, Kris Quick, Janelle Schafer, Debbie Shields, Julie Stewart, Thad Streit and Aleha Whittington.

15 to 19 years: Diane Arends, Barbie Belzer, Beth Bjustrom, Betsy Budach, Joe Catanzareti, Eric Ehlen, Scott Giles, Tracy Giles, Donna Kemery, Deb Larsen, Frank Mueller, Clint Poore, Bonnie Still, Karen Taylor, Kathy Triggs, Jane Uhlenkamp, Donna Warin and Jill Weehler.

20 to 24 years: Sue Buck, Mark Budach, Janette Campbell, R. B. Davenport, Betty Lou Groves, Pam Hudson, John Larsen, Deb Lynch, Betty Newton, Mary Kay Overholtzer, Darla Sobotka, Greg Storhoff, Cathy Swank, Debbie Yoder, Donna Young and Sally Young.

25 to 29 years: Pam Cross, Eugene Dillenburg, Jodie Geist, Fay Howie, Lyle Main, Janice Mobley, Delwyn Showalter, Ron Sickels, Valle Smith, Cindy Stephens, Dick Still and Marylin Weeda.

30 to 34 years: Cindy Allen, Angie Dodge, Marilyn Hawkins, Linda Pickering and James Smith.

  35 to 39 years: Roberta Campbell, Sue Larsen and Faye Stull.
