Old seats from auditorium to be sold
At its regular meeting Monday, February 11, the Mount Ayr Community board of education approved the sale of seats and risers from the high school auditoorium.
Auditorium equipment With the renovation of the high school auditorium now underway, the board approved the sale of the current auditorium seating. Approximately 400 seats will be offered for sale
at $5 per seat. However, the seats are connected in sections, so individual seats will likely not be available for purchase. The board also approved seeking bids for a number of risers that are currently stored in the
auditoriu. The 4x8-foot risers are used for special events such as graduation and concerts, but the school has far more sections than they need. The sale of seats and risers will be advertised in the [Page 10]
coming weeks.

Mount Ayr alumni and local benefactors Rita and Larry Hunter were honored at the dedication of the newly-renovated high school auditorium Friday, November 11 prior to the debut of "Shrek, the Musical," the
first performance in the facility. The Hunters donated over $1.3 million toward the project. This plaque (below) honoring the contribution of Rita and Larry Hunter hangs near the entrance to the newly renovated Mount Ayr High School auditorium.
