Six retiring from school district

Six staff members representing some 177 years of service to the Mount Ayr Community school district -- and much more time if their entire teaching career were added in -- will be retiring at the end of the school year. The retirees were recognized at a breakfast recently for their service to the district. From the elementary school are, from left: Marilyn HAWKINS, 31 years in the MAC district; Angi DODGE, 34 years in the MAC district; Cindy ALLEN, 35 years in the MAC school district; Donna YOUNG, 22 years in the MAC district; and Pam HUDSON, 22 years in the MAC district. At right is James SMITH, who is retiring from the high school staff after 33 years in the MAC district.
