Principal receives pie in the face

By Shanyna Greene

The 2008 MACHS football cheerleaders decided to do a fund-raiser this year called pie in the face. The object was whoever got the most money in their jar got the pie in the face.

Those faculty members who were included in the fund-raiser included Mr. Ken HARRISON, Mr. John THORPE, Mrs. Pam CROSS, Mrs. Deb YODER, Mr. Scott GILES and Mr. Derek LAMBERT.

How did you feel about your name being on a jar?

Mr. HARRISON said, "I felt honored." Mrs. YODER said that she hated it and she wasn't quite sure to what she was saying yes to. Mrs. CROSS said that she was fine with her name being on a jar because she loves being a part of homecoming. Mr. GILES said that he felt violated by it. Mr. THORPE said that he was just fine with his name being on a jar. Mr. LAMBERT said he was okay with his name being on a jar.

Did you think that your jar was going to have the most money in it at the end?

Mrs. CROSS, Mr. LAMBERT, Mrs. YODER and Mr. THORPE all said that they didn't think that their jars were going to get the most money. Mr. GILES honestly thought that he was going to get the most money. Mr. HARRISON thought it was going to be a tight race.

I asked Mrs. YODER, Mrs. CROSS, Mr. LAMBERT, MR. THORPE and Mr. GILES how it felt not to get the pie in the face and they all said that they were not disappointed by any means. They felt really relieved that they didn't get it.

I then asked the winner of our fund-raiser Mr. HARRISON how it felt to get the pie in the face and he said, "It wasn't bad until a half hour later when I hadn't changed my shirt yet. It started to get a rotten milk smell."
