The 50th class reunion for the class of 1952 was held at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr on Friday, May 24, 2002. Thirty-one classmates traveled from as far away as Oregon, Virginia, Texas and Montana. There were two faculty members attending, Ruth WYATT FURMAN and Grace McCAULIN MOSER.

Throughout the evening each classmate introduced their spouse or significant other and shared some of their life experiences over the past 50 years.

Music was provided by Jim BROMMELL from St. Charles. The Lord's Pray was sung by Mr. BROMMELL as the invocation. Dinner was catered by Kevin AUSTIN from Grant City, MO.

Twila PERLENFEIN SIMON was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Lee BRAND read a poem entitled "Do You Remember When?" Joan SHEIL, who was the valedictorian of the class, presented her original message ot the reunion attendees. Glenn JOHNSON wrapped up the evening with general announcements and the selection of the committee members for the next class reunion in five years. Those committee members selected were Barbara REYNOLDS, Gerry CANNON and Evelyn BOURHILL.

The class members attending the 50 year reunion were: Twila PERLENFEIN SIMON, Lee BRAND, Glenn JOHNSON, Keith MAIN, Loraine LINK, Gerry CANNON, Evelyn DRAKE BOURHILL, Doris ENGLAND, Jim COOK, Deloris POTTORFF AYERS, Shirley MOTSINGER HOLDEN, Jerry WILLIS, Betty BLACK MYERS, Lloyd JOHNSON, Dean BRYAN, Richard GOLDNER, Daryl SHELDEN, Marvin REYNOLDS, Lyle GILLILAND, Karl GEPNER, Dale BENSON, Joan SHEIL, Lyle KETERSON, Jacque BEAMAN KLEIN, Barb REYNOLDS, Kenny JOHNSON, Roger SHIFFER, Jo DAILEY PARKER and James POLLOCK.

The committee members for the 50 reunion were Twila PERLENFEIN SIMON, Lee BRAND and Glenn JOHNSON. The evening was memorialized on video and with snapshots. Anyone wishing a copy of the video or snapshots, please contact Twila SIMON.

The class of 1952 held its 55th reunion on July 7 at Smith's Sports and Spirits. A dinner, visiting, renewing old acquaintances and memories were enjoyed.

Jacque and Gene KLEIN of Virginia Beach, VA; Roger and Bernie SHIFFER of Sidney; Glen JOHNSON of Emporia, KS; Gerry CANNON of Calera, AL; Jo Ann PARKER of Denver, CO; Twila SIMON of Walker; Bettye and Jack COATES of Indianola;

Karl and Mary Kathryn GEPNER of Benton and Keith and Donna MAIN and Gerrie and Jim ADAMS of Des Moines.

Next reunion will be held in July of 2009.

Committee was Gerry CANNON and Barb REYNOLDS. New committee is Loraine LINK, Twila SIMONS and Betty MEYERS.

The Mount Ayr Community high school class of 1952 held their 57th reunion on July 2 and 3, 2009.

On Thursday evening classmates visited and shared pictures at the home of LAWHEAD'S bed & breakfast.

A brunch was enjoyed Friday monring at Lesanville Pavilion Hall at Ramsey Farm. In the afternoon a tour was conducted by Todd BLANTON of the Heartland Energy Solution LLC where they will be making wind turbines. Following was another tour by Jane LAWHEAD of the remodeled Princess Theater. The next stop was at Peggy Sue's for refreshments. The evening buffet meal was held at Iowa Roadhouse.

Those in attendance were Daryl and Joanna WILSON, Santa Fe, TX; Gerry GALLOWAY CANON, Calera, AL and daughter Lisa REGAN; E. Ray and Helen SHELDON, Marion; Joan SHEIL, Davenport; Twila PERLENFEIN SIMON, Walker;

Roger and Bernadine SHIFFER, Sidney; Richard and Doris GOLDNER, Des Moines; Jim and Gerrie ROE ADAMS, West Des Moines; Betty BLACK MYERS, Eagleville, MO; Jim and Donella COOK, Creston, and Lyle and Jean GILLILAND, Jim POLLOCK, Lee and Shirley BRAND, Kenneth and Lois JOHNSON, Darlene TRIGGS and Algie and Lorraine MERRITT LINK of Mount Ayr.

Following the meal, a program, "Down Memory Lane," was given by the committee - Loraine LINK, Twila SIMON and Betty MYERS.

It was voted to have the next reunion in three years, 2012. The committee will be Lloyd JOHNSON, Richard GOLDNER and Daryl WILSON.
