Lending a helping hand

With rakes and garbage bags in tow, students from Mount Ayr Community middle and high school boarded six buses Thursday, March 9 to travel 60 miles to the Wayne County town of Seymour to assist residents there in the clean-up following a direct hit by an EF-2 tornado Monday, March 6. The effort was one part of the Respectful Raider initiative in the Mount Ayr schools that encourages community service.
