FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America)

The FCCLA is an organization which provides opportunities for self-development and preparation for family and community living and for employment. The program builds leadership skills along with home skills and emphasizes the area of food, health, consumerism and real issues facing today's society. Although the organization had fewer members this year, we are excited about the growth leadership opportunity of the future.

Barb Gerber is the advisor. Among those involved in the program this year include, from left: Samantha Crawford, Michaela Mueller, Emma Mobley and Kylee Smith.

Raider Tech Squad

Raider Tech Squad is a student group that works to help train students and teachers on any piece of technology with wich they are not familiar. Tech squad members may be involved in teaching an application to fellow classmates, helping in an elementary classroom, fund-raising for the laptop program and helping manage the websites for the school district. They are also trained on how to solve problems on a computer that might arise. This group of students is also the voice for the 1-to-1 laptop progrm at the middle/high school.

Internship Program

The students in the Internship program are given the opportunity to explore careers in a real life work setting. They can work one to three periods a day and are graded on their work performance and work journals they turn in to the instructor. The students also take a job getting and keeping skills class called Career Readiness before they can participate in the program.
