SILOAM SCHOOL No. 9, Washington Township

Siloam School No. 9, Washington Township, was south of Diagonal and across the river west from the Siloam United Brethren Church. When the church was moved, the school was used for revival meetings, and, later, for dances. The school closed in 1952.

Alice MAXWELL, who recently closed a successful term of school at the Siloam School, north and west of Mount Ayr, has accepted a position in the Nichol Book Store and began work Tuesday.

Siloam, Washington No. 9 [school], with Maxine BAGLEY as teacher, has opened with 10 pupils enrolled: Carrol SOBOTKA, David SOBOTKA, Allen COMER, Elmer DeBOLT, Ethel COMER, Clair EASON, Jimmy EASON, Norma Jean SOBOTKA, Myrtle COMER, Eldon YASHACK and Margaret YASHACK.
