DEATH NOTICE

WOODARD, Conrad J., 63, of Carlisle, Iowa, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral service was held July 10 at Berean Assembly of God Church with Pastor Raymond Weets officiating. Burial was in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Berean Assembly of God Church.

OBITUARY ~ CONRAD J. WOODARD

Conrad J. WOODARD, 63, of Carlisle, Iowa, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Leon, Iowa on June 30, 1945 to Luther and Maxine WOODARD. He graduated from Grand Valley High School in Kellerton, Iowa in 1963. Conrad and Donna were united in marriage on May 8, 1964. They shared a strong and loving marriage of 44 years, recently celebrating their anniversary.

Conrad was a dedicated employee of 40 years for the Banker's Life / Principal Financial Group working and managing their printing operations. After retiring from Principal in 2003, he began a successful career in real estate, working out of the Prudential First Realty office in Pleasant Hill, IA.

Conrad loved the Lord and was actively involved in his church, Berean Assembly of God in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Over the years, Conrad was an active member of the Church Board, taught Sunday School and led Royal Rangers. Conrad enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling with his wife, Donna. He was a loving and faithful family man who was a pillar of strength and a wonderful example to his children and grandchildren.

Conrad will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife Donna of Carlisle; their children: Greg WOODARD and wife Vicki of Vadnais Heights, MN, Jeff WOODARD and wife Sara of Des Moines, and Gloria SMITH and husband Pat of Carlisle; grandchildren: Liahna and David WOODARD, Amanda THOMPSON and Marissa WOODARD, and Austin, Andrew, and Aidan SMITH; his brother, Carroll WOODARD and wife Darlene of Decatur; sister-in-law, Nancy WOODARD of Lacona, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Conrad was preceded in death by his father, Luther; his mother, Maxine; his brother, Eugene WOODARD; and grandson, Jeffrey M. WOODARD.
