OBITUARY ~ JAMES DONALD "JIM" WASHBURN

James "Jim" Donald WASHBURN,66, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in a Saint Joseph, Missouri hospital. He was born January 15, 1946 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, son of Maxine and Bill WASHBURN. He graduated from high school and he married Patsy PADEN on January 24, 1971. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked at Friskies as a maintenance supervisor and also was a carpenter specializing in cabinetry. He enjoyed working with wood and was a member of King Hill Lodge #376 A.F. and A.M. and the Eureka Valley Baptist Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Bill WASHBURN, and a sister, Mariann POTTORFF.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy WASHBURN of the home; mother, Maxine WASHBURN of Hatfield, Missouri; daughter, Jena WILLIAMSON and husband Greg of Saint Joseph, Missouri; two sons, Greg SILL and wife Gwen of Saint Joseph, Missouri and Marc SILL and companion Laurie of Clarksdale, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jayla Mae (Ray) SMITH of Jamesport, Missouri, Rose (Mike) WASHBURN of Runnells, Iowa and Penny WASHBURN of Hatfield, Mis-souri; three brothers, Joe (Carol) WASHBURN of Hatfield, Missouri, John (Marie) WASHBURN of Kingsley, Iowa and Rob (Tina) WASHBURN of Eagleville, Missouri.

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, with Rev. Bob MYERS officiating. Pallbearers included Marvin ATKINS, Mike DRAGOO, Steve DRAGOO, Dave HUBER, Rod BRANDT and Larry COLLIVER.

Rupp Funeral Home of Saint Joseph, Missouri handled the arrangements.

Jim was laid to rest in the King Hill Cemetery in Saint Joseph.
