OBITUARY ~ ELDON C. TRIGGS

Eldon C. TRIGGS, 79, of Evansville, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Deaconess Hospital after a courageous battle against cancer, with his family by his side.

Eldon was born May 28, 1928 on a farm near Delphos, Iowa to Harley and Leona TRIGGS. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. In 1952 he married Lois Nadine CLARK of Mount Vernon, Indiana.

He retired from Brake Supply in 1990 and had previously worked at Mead Johnson & Co. In his last years he enjoyed working part-time at Dogtown Boat Ramp with his daughter.

In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, bowling, gardening and attending sporting events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also served as a Republican committeeman for 35 years.

Eldon was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lois Nadine TRIGGS; parents, Harley and Lois TRIGGS; brothers Leo and Ainslee TRIGGS; and brother-in-law, Don LINK.

He is survived by "The Girls," daughters, Becky WADE and her husband, Doug, Jennifer "Jenny" TRIGGS, Teresa LEWIS and her husband, Danny, Tonya HALL and her husband, Jim, all of Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren, Jamie, Martin, Melissa FRYMIRE, Shane LEWIS and Brady HALL; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lola LINK of Rapid City, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Lois TRIGGS of Mount Ayr, Iowa; and nephews, Dan SHELDON of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Lanny SHELDON of Sun City, Arizona.

Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Alexander West Chapel and were officiated by Reverend Mike STOELTING with burial at Alexander Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #1114, 110 North Wabash, Evansville, IN 47712. Condolences may be made on-line at www.mem.com. Arrangements were handled by Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street.
