OBITUARY ~ NORA L. (WILLIAMS) YOUNG

Nora L. Williams, daughter of Lindley G. and Alice M. Williams was born in Adams county near Prescott, Iowa, June 18, 1897. She passed away at her home in Creston, Iowa, June 16, 1953, just two days before her 56th birthday. Although she had been in poor health for some time, her passing was sudden and quite unexpected. Her entire life was spent in Adams and surrounding counties.

September 6, 1917 at Corning, Iowa, she was united in marriage to William E. Young. Two daughters were born to them: Mrs. Erma Shaffer of Conway and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Fairfield, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two daughters, two sons-in-law Clyde Shaffer and Harold Miller, four grandchildren Allan Lee Miller, Larry, Gary and Jean Ann Shaffer, a nephew Glen Orlo Williams of Los; Angeles, California, whom she raised. Three sisters, Lillie Rowles of Creston, Iowa, Etta Lewis, Thayer, Iowa, Nellie Lewis of Lenox, Iowa, Four brothers Elmer and Everette Williams of Corning, Bill of Galesburg,. Illinois, Forrest of Zion, Illinois, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Robert, Melvin, Murray and Ralph Williams and one grandson, Sidney Shaffer.

Her life ambition was doing things for her family and her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She loved all children and helped her brother Bill raise his family after his wife's death, she was truly a good neighbor, always kind and ready to help anyone in need. Our family circle is now broken and life will never be the same without her, but she will live on in blessed memory.

[Poem]

Services were held June 20 at the Arnold Funeral Home in Lenox, at 2 p.m. with Rev. C. E. McPherson officiating. Burial was in Clearfield cemetery.
