ARVID LEE WOOLLUMS

American Flag.jpg Arvid Lee WOOLLUMS, was born January 28, 1935 in Monroe Township, Ringgold County, Iowa to Clair and Zelma (ROBERTS) WOOLLUMS and departed this life on April 15, 2007 at his home in Diagonal, Iowa.

Arvid attended schools in Ringgold County and graduated from the Mount Ayr, High School with the class of 1954. In May of 1954 Arvid enlisted in the U.S. Marines.

In 1956 Arvid was united in marriage to Shirley POWELL with two sons born to this Union, Greg and Kelly.

Auto body repair and trucking kept Arvid busy through the years but his favorite times were spent stock car racing and flying. He derived great pleasure from his family and spending time with his many friends.

Preceding him in death were his father, brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Freida WOOLLUMS and a brother-in-law Terry HAINLINE.

Left to mourn his passing are his sons, Greg WOOLLUMS of Mesa, Arizona and Kelly (Cindy) WOOLLUMS of LaMotte, Iowa; grandson Jacob WOOLLUMS of LaMotte; mother Zelma WOOLLUMS of Mount Ayr; his companion Karen SNEDAKER of Diagonal; sister Cherri HAINLINE of Van Wert, Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Arvid was cremated and a private disposition will be held at a later date.
