OBITUARY - RONALD EDWARD WOOD

August 20, 1931 - March 31, 2010

Ronald WOOD age 78 of Martelle died Wednesday March 31, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Memorial service will be held 11:00am Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Monday April 5, 2010 at the Funeral Home in Anamosa. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.

Surviving are his wife Edna; a son Clark (Vicky MULLER) WOOD of Martelle, a daughter Shauna (Dr. Adrian) HOLM of Iowa City, a daughter from his first wife Thressa UNRUH of Martelle; a sister Erma HARRIS of Mount Ayr, Iowa; 3 brothers Thomas CAMPBELL of South Carolina, James and Jerry CAMPBELL of Nebraska; and 2 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Alberta; 2 brothers Burr WOOD and special brother Pete who raised Ronald.

Ronald Edward WOOD was born August 20, 1931 in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He was the son of Edward and Edna POTTER WOOD. Ronald attended school in Stanwood, Iowa. Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On December 28, 1969 Ronald and Edna BARNETT were united in marriage in Cantril, Iowa. Ronald owned and operated Ron's Electric for more than 40 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Olin, Past Patron of the Order of Amaranth in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed raising horses from Quarter and Belgian horses to Miniature horses. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Anamosa Activities and Athletic Department.
