OBITUARY - ROXIE HASTINGS (ROUDYBUSH) FAUBION WOLF

Roxie Hastings WOLF, daughter of Ross and Idaleen McINTYRE ROUDYBUSH, was born December 30, 1900 on a farm south of Blockton, Iowa, and departed from this life at Clearview Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa, on November 4, 1988, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and five days.

Roxie spent her early life in the Blockton vicinity. In April, 1921, she was united in marriage to Jesse Verne FAUBION of Grant City, Missouri. To this union three children were born -- Kathleen DRAKE of Blockton, Iowa; Maurine SHEARER of Corona, Claifornia, and Robert FAUBION, who lost his life in World War II.

Roxie and her family lived on a farm near Grant City, Missouri, a short while and then moved to a farm northwest of Blockton. Upon the death of her husband, Verne, Roxie went to Winterset and operated a cafe for a time. She married Joe WOLF of Des Moines on June 14, 1940. She lived some 45 years in Des Moines before ill health made it necessary for her to come to Clearview in Mount Ayr, where she had resided the past 11 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Idaleen; her husbands, Verne FAUBION and Joe WOLF; her son, Robert; and a brother Jim ROUDEBUSH (sic).

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen DRAKE of Blockton, Iowa, and Maurine SHEARER of Corona, California; a son-in-law, Bert DRAKE of Blocton, Iowa; two grandsons, Terry HENSON of Blockton, Iowa, and Robert HENSON and wife Linda of Waukee, Iowa; two step-gransons, Don DRAKE and wife Karen of Lenox, Iowa, and Earl DRAKE and wife Connie of Blockton, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Jason, Carolyn, Annie and Laura HENSON of Waukee, Iowa, and Tyler, Levi and Marshall HENSON of Bryon, Minnesota; and four step-great-grandchildren, Todd and Brenda DRAKE of Lenox, Iowa, and Nathan and Clinton DRAKE of Blockton, Iowa.

Roxie will be remembered dearly and missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held November 7, 1988, from Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Scott MARCUM. Music was provided by Charles COBB and Dean COBB.

Casketbearers were Don DRAKE, Bill HUNT, Earl DRAKE, Charles COBB, Terry HENSON and Robert HENSON. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Blockton, Iowa.

OBITUARY - ROXIE WOLF, Mount Ayr

MOUNT AYR- Roxie WOLF, 87, of Mount Ayr, died Friday morning, Nov. 4, 1988, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr.

Services were 10:30 a.m. today, Nov. 7, at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home here [Mount Ayr].The Rev. Scott MARCUM officiated with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Blockton.

Mrs. WOLF was born Dec. 30, 1900, near Blockton to Ross and Kdaleen (McINTYRE) ROUDYBUSH. She married Jesse Verne FAUBION and he preceded her in death. She was a housewife. She lived in and around Blockton, spent 45 years in Des Moines and the last few years in the nursing home here [Mount Ayr].

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Bert) DRAKE of Blockton, and Maurien SHEARER of Corona, Calif; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
