OBITUARY - HAROLD H. "WHITEY" WILSON

Harold H. "Whitey" WILSON passed away Jan. 14, one day before his 75th birthday anniversary.

He was born Jan. 15, 1912, at Kellerton, the son of Richard and Leathia WILSON. He spent most of his childhood years in Kellerton with the exception of two or three years when they lived in South Dakota.

He served in the army for 2 1/2 years, was sent overseas and fought in the Eurpoean Theatre and the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in Germany and was flown to England. He received several medals. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post of Logan. He moved to Logan in 1951 and was employed by Clark Limestone for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Logan; daughter, Joyce PERKINS of Russell, KS; a sister, Bernadine STUART of Indianola; ab brother, Marvin of Des Moines; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Schumacher funeral home Saturday, Jan. 17 [1987] at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Jonathan CHADWICK the clergyman. Music was by Dick DICKINSON, accompanied by Kris GASH. Bearers were Mark HILL, Bob MICHAEL, Dennis CARZOLI, Bob DAVIS and Shorty THOMPSON. Military service was by American Legion Post No. 676. Interment was in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton, Iowa.
