OBITUARY - MARIAN WHITEAKER

1915 - 2005

ALBANY, Mo. - Miss Marian WHITEAKER passed away quietly on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at an Albany, Mo., nursing home.

Marian, the daughter of Frank and Amy (NORTHEY) WHITEAKER was born on Dec. 7, 1915, in Beaconsfield, Iowa.

She attended schools in Beaconsfield and Des Moines in Iowa and graduated from Albany High School in Missouri in 1933. After graduating from the Kansas City Business College in Kansas City, Mo., she worked for the Lathrup Law Firm until 1946 when she transferred to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company. She worked as a legal secretary for the railroad for 35 years until her retirement in January of 1981 and remained in Kansas City until recently.

She enjoyed travel and had made trips all over the United States and the world. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church of Kansas City, Beta Sigma Phi, an international sorority and was very active in the National Association of Railway Business Women.
