Hattie (Mrs. James) WERNER of Tingley passed away Friday evening, December 24, 1982 at the Mt. Ayr Health Care Center.

Hattie Carrie STOESSINGER was born May 12, 1892 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. [Her] Parents were Charles and Carrie ACKERMAN STOESSIGER. She had one sister, Sadie CARTER of Sioux City, deceased, and one brother, Fred, also of Sioux City, who survives plus nieces and nephews in that area.

To this union were born Darrell (and wife Maxine) of Shannon City; Elton (and wife Marjorie) of Tingley; Doris (Mrs. Dick GARLAND) of Des Moines; and Carol (Mrs. Dean BRYAN) of Huxley. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

They spent all of their 68 years together in Union and Ringgold Counties except 2 years in California in 1945 and 46.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, August 26, 1981, and 2 grandchildren.

She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in which she took part faithfully as long as her health permitted. She devoted her life for the enrichment of her family, leaving her children and grandchildren many happy memories and keepsakes that she spent hours making for their enjoyment.
