BESSIE MAY TRENKLE DIES - Afton

Bessie May TRENKLE, 79, of 511 E. Kansas Street, Afton, passed away Sunday evening, September 24, 1989, at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

She was born May 6, 1910 in Mulvane, Kansas, the daughter of John and Jeannie (QUILLIAN) JOHNSON. On June 18, 1959, she married Leo TRENKLE at Grant City, Mo.

She was a resident of Ringgold, Taylor and Union counties all her life, graduating from Shannon City High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Afton and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Mrs. TRENKLE is survived by her husband, Leo of Afton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and her step-father, Frank TINDLE.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. John TUNNICLIFF, pastor of the Afton U. Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
