GLEN ROBERT TONEY DIES - Ellston

Glen TONEY, 81, of Sun Valley Lake, Ellston, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 30, 1989, at the Leon Care Center following a long illness.

He was born Aug. 15, 1908, in Lamoni, the son of John and Alberta (THRUMMEL) TONEY. On April 2, 1931, he married Arlene ARNOLD in Grant City, Mo. She preceded him in death in September 1983.

Mr. TONEY grew up in the Ellston area and lived 25 years in West Des Moines. He retired 12 years ago to Sun Valley Lake. He was a retired cement worker and a carpenter and was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. TONEY is survived by a daughter, Beverly HALL of Osceola; a son, Dennis TONEY of Herndon, Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Forest TONEY of Leon; and three sisters, Aris CREVELING and Lola WRIGHT of Osceola and Hope MILLER of Leon.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Edwin.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with the Rev. Jack KENDALL officiating. Burial was at the Ellston Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church at Ellston.

NOTE: Glen was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
