OBITUARY.

Mrs. C. T. THOMPSON, an aged lady who had long been ill with cancer, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday [August 28, 1906] at the home of her son, S. L. THOMPSON of High Point, where she had long resided.

The funeral was conducted at 11 o'clock yesterday from the High Point church by Rev. Dr. Joseph CALHOUN, assisted by Rev. M. R. TALLEY.

Mrs. Catherine T. THOMPSON was aged at the time of her death 84 years, 1 1months, and 11 days. Her husband Stephen N[ewell]. THOMPSON, died in 1808 (sic). She was a devoted: Christian woman, holding membership in the United Presbyterian church.

Mrs. THOMPSON's surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Mary A. WALLER of Lakefield, Kan.; Mrs. Eliza MOON of Reynolds, Neb.; Mrs. W. B. PRESTON of Shannon City; Mrs. G. I. NOBLES of Liberty township; Mrs. H. H. PARSONS of Mt. Ayr; S[tewart]. L[afayette]. THOMPSON of Liberty township; Mrs. S. W. CALFEE of North Dakota; Mrs. Joseph WORK of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Emma MOORE of Parson, Kan.

MRS. C. T. THOMPSON DEAD

Mrs. Catherine T. Thompson, aged 84 years, 11 months and 11 days died at the home of her son, S. L. THOMPSON, at High Point, Tuesday Aug. 28, 1906. The funeral was conducted Thursday from High Point church by Rev Joseph CALHOUN, assisted by Rev. Mr. TALLEY. She had been afflicted with cancer for several years. She was a devoted christian woman.

NOTE: Stephen Newell THOMPSON was born in Pennsylvania on June 25, 1812, and died at the age of 59 years, September 14, 1871, on his farm near Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. He was married in Adams County, Ohio, on April 7, 1842, to Catherine Thomas BALDRIDGE.

Catherine Thomas (BALDRIDGE) THOMPSON was born in Cherry Fork, Adams County, Ohio, on September 17, 1821, the daughter of Samuel & Mary (McGARY) BALDRIDGE. She died at the age of 84 years, on August 28, 1906, Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Stephen and Catherine were interred at Oliver Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
