OBITUARY ~ NORMAN F. "NORM" STAMMER

Norman STAMMER, 77, died on Monday, November 28, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines from complications of lung surgery. A funeral service was held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 East 42nd Street, Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Norman was born November 28, 1928 to Oliver and Rose (nee THIEME) STAMMER in Neillsville, Wisconsin. He worked as a supervisor for American Can from 1947 to 1984, moving to Des Moines in 1967, and then to Sun Valley Lake in 1987 for retirement. Norman was a member of the Tingley United Methodist Church, Hope Lutheran Church and a former board member of the Sun Valley Lake Association. He was a content man who truly enjoyed spending time puttering in his garage. Norm always welcomed family and friends to spend time and visit at their lake home.

Norman is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Sue (Steve) ARTWEIN of Clive, Iowa, Doreen (Brad) PUCHTA of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Jennifer (David) MONROE of Berryton, Kansas; sons, Rick (Kathy) STAMMER of Des Moines, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Rheta (Carl) PRIEM of Blairsville, Georgia; brother, Dave STAMMER of Phillips, Wisconsin and a host of family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale STAMMER.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
