OBITUARY ~ MARIE OGLE SMITH

Marie OGLE SMITH as born into the marriage of Guy Clifford and Mona KEANEN OGLE on December 24, 1920, and grew into adulthood in and around Blockton. She was a graduate from Blockton high school in 1938. After grduating from high school, she attended Northwest Missouri University for two years and taught school for a short time in the New Market area.

Marie was united in marriage to Samuel Dylven SMITH on August 17, 1941. To this union a daughter and a son were born, both of whom died in infancy.

Del and Marie lived near the Sheridan and Grand City, Mo., area a short time. Then they moved to Oregon where they made their home for three years. For 19 years they operated a propane gas service at Pumpkin Center, Mo., and for the past seven years had made their home in Blockton.

Marie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Blockton, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Laff-a-Lot Bridge Club.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and two children. She is survived by one brother, John OGLE; by four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; two uncles, Clay and Earl OGLE; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 29, 1982 at the Blockton United Methodist Church, ith Rev. Ed KAIL officiating. Andrews Funeral Home of Grant City, Mo., was in charge of arrangements. [Interment at Blockton Cemetery.]
