OBITUARY ~ VIRGINIA MAE "Ginny" (JETER) SHARP
July 26, 1934 ~ September 06, 2015

Virginia Mae Sharp, daughter of Fred and Cordia (Jones) Jeter, was born July 26, 1934 in Harrison County, Missouri. Virginia married Lyle Sharp and to this marriage was born one son, Lonnie. They would later divorce.

Virginia was known as Ginny to close friends and family. In her adult life, Virginia lived in Bedford, Cresco and Mount Ayr, Iowa. She worked at Hy-Vee in the meat department and as a cashier. Virginia worked many years as a waitress at various restaurants in Bedford and Mount Ayr. Virginia also was a cook at Clearview Homes and even did a stint with the D.O.T. road crew in Cresco as a Flagman.

Ginny loved cooking for her family and making sure there was something special for everyone. The grandkids, including the Gollidays and Cannons, could always count on treats from Grandma Ginny. Family was her most prized possession, of which she was fiercely protective! A visit to Ginny’s home was a trip down memory lane with pictures of all of her family at various ages. Ginny’s son, Lonnie, will remember his mom as easy going and never opinionated.

Virginia passed away September 6, 2015.
