NOTICE of DEATH - MARY LOU SWANSON

Mary Lou SWANSON, 85, of Mount Ayr died August 3, 2006, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. Services are pending at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - MARY LOU (MYERS) SWANSON

Mary Lou SWANSON, 85, of Mount Ayr died August 3, 2006, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, August 7, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Susan THOMAS of the United Methodist Church in Mount Ayr officiated the service. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Shannon City. Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.

Mary Lou SWANSON, daughter of Louise (COWELL) and Edward E. MYERS, was born February 26, 1921, at Fullerton, Neb. On February 3, 1945, Mary Lou married Elon "Shorty" SWANSON in St. Paul, Neb. She taught country school in Nebraska before her marriage and was a homemaker after her marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Elon "Shorty" SWANSON of Mount Ayr; son Louis (wife Cheryl) SWANSON of Jefferson; daughter Helen Jean (husband Charles) LONG of Mount Ayr; five grandchildren, Scott (wife Lisa) SWANSON, Eric (wife Kathy) LONG, Charles Allen (wife Cheryl) LONG Jr., Major Michael (wife Kelly) LONG and Pamela (husband Terry) SULLIVAN; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Edna McKIBBEN of Kearney, Neb.; two brothers-in-law, Carl (wife Cindy) SWANSON of Simpsonville, S.C., and Marvin SWANSON of Palmer, Neb.; and special niece and nephew, Gloria and Eddie MYERS.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Louis, Alvin and Melvin MYERS; four sisters-in-law, Jean SWANSON, Valley SWANSON, Lavera SWANSON and Helen and Geneva SWANSON; niece Linda; brother-in-law Clarence McKIBBEN; and parents-in-law Earl and Hazel SWANSON.
